HIS 298 Special Topics in History

Prerequisite: ENG 101  and one of the following: HIS 101 , HIS 102 , HIS 121 , HIS 122 , HIS 201 , HIS 202  or permission of the instructor

Generally conducted as a seminar, this intermediate course offers an in-depth examination of a specialized topic in history. A particular theme, time period, geographic region or major historical figure is selected by the instructor as the focus of the course. Varied topics include: the American Civil War, the Cultural History of Islam, the History of India, and Franklin D. Roosevelt, the New Deal and World War II are offered. Lectures, discussion and writing assignments are directed at thorough analytical evaluation of the course topic. This course may be taken more than once for credit when the topics are different. Not offered every year
